A reputable and resourceful energy and infrastructure sector executive, Rolake has more than 15 years track-record of helping to finance and scale businesses across Africa. She is currently the Chief Commercial Officer of leading infrastructure and affordable housing developer, Mixta Africa, helping the group craft and execute its commercialisation strategy, across subsidiaries in Nigeria, Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Cote d’Ivoire & Ethiopia.
Prior to this, she was the Senior Advisor to IFU, the Danish Investment Fund and sat on the global advisory board of Canadian Private Equity firm, Stonechair Capital. From 2014 – 2019 she was head of energy for FBN Capital and FBNQuest Merchant Bank, during which time she was also member from 2017-2019, of the private sector economic advisory group in the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria, working closely with the Chief Economic Adviser to the President, and the VP’s office on a range of national development policy issues. Prior to FBNQuest Merchant Bank, she was head of the energy, power and oil and gas research team at pan-African Ecobank Group covering 33 African markets out of London.
An engaging commentator on global markets and business, on platforms like BBC, CNBC and others, she was recognised as a top 275 Global Female Influencer Executives (2020) in Energy by the UK’s Energy Council and was listed in the MIPAD 100 Under 40 in the 2018 Business and Entepreneurship Category. She was also the recipient of the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship (2017) District 18, from Zonta International and was a Laureate in the Choiseul 200 Young Economic Leaders in Africa Under 40 in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Fluent in French, she has a BSc & an MSc degree from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a joint MBA degree from the London School of Economics, HEC School of Management Paris and NYU’s Leonard Stern School of Business (TRIUM). She is also Chair of the Board Governance Committee of faith-based NGO, Bethesda Child Support Agency, and sits on the Advisory Boards of Naija Startups and Aruwa Capital Management, Nigeria’s leading female-owned and managed private equity fund. In recent years, she has focused on empowering entrepreneurs and career women, and founded InaTidé, a non-profit helping off-grid entrepreneurs access finance, as well as iArticl8 a public speaking platform that is building effective communicators.
