The Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ), in collaboration with Diamond Bank Plc, on Wednesday, August 3, empowered 300 students in four public secondary schools in Kano through its Big Sister Program (BSP)

The BSP is a programme targeted at mentoring teenage girls from 14 to 18 years, equipping them with life skills needed to boost their self-confidence and leadership capacities; and molding their mindsets towards aspiring for success in life. The programme also aims to connect young girls to accomplished female professionals in various fields.

Students from the following schools benefited from the Big Sister Program in Kano:

Kano Capital Girls Secondary School
Fatima Mohammed Government Girls Secondary School Gyadi-Gyadi,
Government Girls College Kano (WTC),
Government Girls Secondary School Dala GGC

The programme featured an official opening ceremony at Kano Capital School with key officials from the state Ministry of Education and over 400 female students in attendance.

The main training was delivered by over 40 mentors and volunteers assigned to the schools to inspire and motivate the students.

The Big Sister Program has impacted 2000 since inception. WIMBIZ is open to partnerships and collaborations that would increase the reach of the programme and ensure more girls are impacted.
