Ngover Ihyembe-Nwankwo is an Executive Principal and Relationship Manager within the International Corporates Segment in Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria’s Global Banking Business. She joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2004 after previous roles in Afribank Nigeria Ltd and Citibank Nigeria.
Her 16+ years experience in financial services cuts across Transaction Banking, Credit Portfolio Management, Corporate Finance and Relationship Management. She is currently responsible for anchoring the bank’s International Corporates, Eastern Nigeria portfolio. Prior to this role, Ngover was responsible for structuring and implementing Transaction Banking and Securities Services Solutions for Corporate Finance & Capital Markets clients across the bank’s Africa footprint. She also previously managed the Multinationals portfolio under the Global Corporates Team and before then was Country Head of Transaction Banking.
Ngover is actively involved in several committees within the Bank and she is well regarded for her tenacity, passion and commitment. A “people” person, she is particularly focussed on staff engagement and operational efficiency.
She is a graduate of the University of Durham, UK where she obtained a degree in Combined Social Sciences (Economics, Politics & Philosophy) with Honours and also holds a Masters Degree in International Management from the University of Exeter, UK. Ngover is a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration.
Outside of paid employment, Ngover volunteers and sits on the Executive Council of Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ), the foremost women-focused NGO in West Africa, committed to elevating the status of women and their contributions to nation building. She is deeply passionate about financial literacy and economic empowerment and she runs book keeping classes in her spare time for Entrepreneurship Development Organisations.
