Zaynab Usman Muazu obtained a Masters degree in Strategic Marketing from the prestigious Cranefeild University School of Management in 2007 and a first degree in Business Administration from the University of Abuja in 1996. She also has several professional certifications in Customer Service, Financial Analysis, Marketing and Negotiation Skills, and Culinary Cuisine and Pastry to mention a few from various institutions between 1998 to date.
She commenced her professional career with Broad Bank of Nigeria in 1998, as a Relationship Manager having led several teams in marketing, customer relations and operational divisions of the bank. Thereafter, in 2004, she worked with the Trade and Exchange Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria and was responsible for import and foreign exchange policy formulation, evaluation and monitoring. With veritable expertise in the financial sector, she took up an appointment with BGL Private Equity Limited in 2008 as a pioneer staff. Her role at BGL was centered on developing investment portfolios for clients, in relation to financial modeling and analysis, developing marketing strategy, conducting research, evaluation and selection of investment vehicles. Afterwards, based on her experiences and plausible achievements, in 2009, she was head hunted to join the advisory team of the Minister of Power as an Executive Assistant in charge of administration and conducting research of the electricity industry.
In 2011, she proceeded to Fortner International Limited (FIL), a business development firm, which was established by her in 2008. The firm specializes in a range of business areas including business advisory-marketing strategy and plans, training and people development. Fortner has worked with various organizations in the public, private and diplomatic sectors respectively. In addition to running Fortner International, she established Lettuce Inn and Piped in 2012; two distinct business ventures providing healthy options of salads, fresh fruit juices and gourmet desserts of global standard.
She’s passionate about building a pipeline for growth and development of the common good and is an active member of Likeminds; a group of young professionals that volunteer to provide humanitarian support for the underprivileged in Nigeria. She is a member of the Audit Committee of Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited and also serves as a director on the board of various companies.
